Pros & Cons
o SmartSecure System – this innovative feature really makes it fool proof and easy to install, no more guessing.
o Performance Travel System – the travel system give the car seat the ability to do double duty. The one-handed button operation makes the transition from stroller to car a breeze.
o New lighter weight – the Mesa only weighs 11.2 pounds now, taking the load off without negotiating safety.
o Preemie inserts are awesome, they were made for the seat and this makes them easy to use
o No re-thread harness system – there is no need to re-thread the harness system every time the baby grows
o Heavy, non-breathable fabric – although the fabric is supposed to be breathable, it is heavy and in warm weather it does not breathe enough
o Head and neck support is not as good as it could be – the preemie insert may work for some, but for infants who are not preemie it may be too small
The heavy fabric can be very warm in hot weather and the head and neck support can be a problem for some. Go to the store and give it a once over, these two cons may not be an issue for everyone, or every infant. Many infants have enough head and neck support, try using the preemie insert, it may fix any support issue you find. Other than that, this seat is one of the best there is. The no re-thread harness system and SmartSecure are innovative safety features no one should have to do without.
